Campswipe Ltd ("Campswipe", "we", "us") is committed to protecting the personal information of organisations and individuals who use our platform. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights under Ghana's Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843).

1. Who This Policy Applies To

This policy applies to:

  • Organisation administrators who create and manage a Campswipe account
  • Members whose information is uploaded or registered by an organisation
  • Payers who make payments through a Campswipe-powered collection page

2. Data We Collect

Organisation data:

  • Organisation name, type, and contact details
  • Administrator name, email address, and phone number
  • Bank account details for payouts
  • Billing and payment history

Member data (uploaded by the organisation):

  • Full name, phone number, and email address
  • Group or branch affiliation
  • Payment history and records
  • Date of birth or other fields enabled by the organisation

Payer data (collected at the point of payment):

  • Name, phone number, and email address
  • Payment reference and amount

Technical data:

  • IP address, browser type, and device information
  • Pages visited and actions taken on the Platform

3. How We Use Your Data

  • To operate and provide the Campswipe service
  • To process payments and send SMS receipts and confirmations
  • To match payments to member records
  • To calculate and process payouts to organisations
  • To communicate with you about your account, updates, or issues
  • To comply with legal and regulatory obligations
  • To detect and prevent fraud or misuse of the Platform

4. Payment Processing

All payments are processed by Paystack, a PCI-DSS compliant payment processor. When a payment is made, the payer's card or MoMo details are handled directly by Paystack — Campswipe does not store card numbers or MoMo PINs. Paystack's own privacy policy governs how they handle payment data.

5. SMS Notifications

Campswipe sends SMS messages to members and payers to confirm payments and provide receipts. Phone numbers are used solely for this purpose and are not shared with third-party marketing services.

6. Who We Share Data With

We do not sell your data. We share data only where necessary to operate the service:

  • Paystack — for payment processing
  • SMS providers — for delivery of payment notifications
  • Hosting providers — for infrastructure (data is stored in secure cloud environments)
  • Regulatory or law enforcement authorities — where required by law

7. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active and for a minimum of 7 years after account closure, in line with financial record-keeping requirements under Ghanaian law. Member data uploaded by an organisation is retained for as long as the organisation's account remains active. Organisations may request deletion of specific member records subject to legal retention requirements.

8. Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure database access controls, and restricted staff access to personal data. Despite these measures, no system is entirely secure. If you suspect unauthorised access to your account, notify us immediately at hello@campswipe.com.

9. Your Rights

Under Ghana's Data Protection Act, 2012, you have the right to:

  • Request access to the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data (subject to legal retention requirements)
  • Object to certain uses of your data

10. Cookies

Campswipe uses session cookies necessary for the Platform to function (e.g. keeping you logged in). We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

11. Children's Data

Campswipe is not directed at children under 18. If an organisation uploads data relating to minors (e.g. in a youth programme context), the organisation is responsible for ensuring appropriate consent has been obtained from a parent or guardian.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or by a notice on the Platform. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects when the policy was last revised.
